Solo- cooking #4 beef and somen
Linking into yesterday’s meal, I have once again used (or misused) somen noodles. This time they are hot and mixed in with the stir fried dish at the last minute which I think is something that fine somen noodles would not be used to. Anyhow it was a simple matter of stir frying some thinly sliced shabu shabu beef, spinach, shimeji mushrooms and naga negi onion with a splash of mirin and soy. At the last minute I mixed in the pre-cooked somen and was eating in record time. I over did the soy sauce and it was a bit overpowering but that is the price of innovation.

Wow, that looks really, really good. Shabu shabu (not that I think you intended to do it at home) usually results in scorced, un-tasting tongues for me anyway.
