Salty Praline

Is it just me or is this weird.  Maybe there is something that I have missed about salty chocolate but the idea just doesn’t sit right with me.  The good news is that they didn’t go overboard with the salt, but really I wouldn’t know because I ate it while watching the new Indiana Jones movie.  It could taste like anything and I wouldn’t really know.  Sorry!

1 opinion for Salty Praline

I think there’s something to be said for the salty/sweet combo. Kettle-cooked popcorn has this going for it. I’ve seen recipes on blogs for caramels sprinkled with a tiny bit of salt… same goes for some cookies… yes, even chocolate chip. Salt is a flavor enhancer as well as a flavor in its own right. Most chocolate chip cookie recipes will include a small amount of salt, partially because it helps bring out the flavor of the chocolate. In any case, I know I can never pass up a chocolate covered pretzel. :D
