Oyaku Donburi with a twist

There is something strange going on here.  There are no leaf vegetables in the dish.  Instead there is piman (capsicum).  It was on the table in no time flat.  And the strangest bit of all was that my wife cooked this for us.  Stranger than fiction!

Ahhh…a Japanese food blog but more about the everyday food. Good to know I’m not the only one taking pictures of food for people outside of Japan :) Ran across this while absently searching for Kewpie Mayonnaise. You can get them in the US! Which is great since, as a Japanese who have lived in the US all his life, I still looove this stuff. Especially on toast. Just toast and Kewpie Mayonnaise. Mmmm.

Anyway, the reason why I commented… It’s “Oyako” not “Oyaku”. 親子literally means parent and child.

    Looks yummy though. ^^
