Mushrooms and tofu
This is an invention of mine (or at least I think I invented it, but you can never really prove that sort of thing) and I need a hand naming it.
Here is the basic concept, very simple. I saute three types of mushroom with some naga negi (long onion) and then add the tiniest dribble of soy sauce. This is served up on top of firm, even crumbly, tofu with shredded nori on top. The mushroom juices have a way of soaking into the tofu and so the whole lot tastes delicious.
My problem is that I am not creative enough with naming dishes like these. Any suggestions?

Hi Chesu
Kinofu is a great name. It has that sound like mushrooms and tofu but it also sounds like a genuine Japanese word. Is there any other meaning for this word?
Thanks
Tom

Nope, it’s just a contraction/portmanteau of Kinoko and Tofu. I guess it’s kind of lacking, though.. Since it has spring onions in it, how about Negi Kinofu? That seems to suggest that other varieties of Kinofu are feasible.
