Ken Hom’s Chinese Kitchen

by Stef on July 12th, 2006

Another favorite! (Yeah, yeah, yeah, they all are. Can you blame me? So many great Chinese cookbooks!) Ken Hom’s is special to me because before Deh-ta Hsiung’s book came out, it was my indispensable guide to Chinese ingredients. Two other books which I’ll post about later are also essential guides when navigating through the maze of Asian products. But what I love about Ken Hom’s book is the large color photos of ingredients. No ambiguity here! In fact, half the book is dedicated to showing you exactly what you need to reproduce authentic Chinese cuisine in your home. (Mr. Hom, you know what would be even better? A pocket version of this book! Hmmm…. I’ll add it to my list of “projects”. LOL.)

Can’t lose either way, but even better if you can have both!
