Kake Soba

Today I had the best soba experience I have ever had.  Believe me I have had some wonderful soba times but this was the best. 

Kake soba, fresh off the noodle bed, served searingly hot in rich and salty soup.  It was big, very big and just what I needed to survive the cold.  I rode the last 20 kms of my training with a couple of kilos of extra weight but the world’s biggest smile.  What more could I want?

In the background, you can see my friend’s cold soba dish.  I think I saw a degree of envy in his eyes.  His plate was great, but mine was exceptional.
