Half a bunch of enoki mushrooms
An onion
A handful of green beans
4 cloves of garlic
A big squirt of honey
2 bunches of Udon noodles
It takes about 4 minutes to boil the noodles and about the same time […]

This is another example of a recipe whose history I am not sure about . It looks similar to a lot of traditional Japanese recipes like Niku Jaga, but I haven’t found one exactly the same yet. This makes me think that it is my own recipe but if you think otherwise please feel free to […]

Today’s post is a contribution to the 17th edition of Lasang Pinoy, a monthly food blogging event highlighting everything that’s yummy about Filipino (Pinoy) food. Angelo of Eat Matters is hosting, and LP is back on after a brief hiatus caused by hurricanes and busy lives :D; so it’s unquestionably appropriate that the EGG […]

We are on the road… recipe later.
Okay I’m back. We were traveling from Pennsylvania to Ohio and posted that yesterday right before we left my brother’s house. This one’s another easy recipe:
3 Japanese or other Asian eggplants, cut into 2-inch chunks (or roll-cut Chinese style — you know, cut then roll? cut […]

I have been reminded by a very nice individual that not everyone who comes to this blog can, wants to or will cook from scratch. Said person suggested that perhaps I should feature “mixes” and “instant food” sometimes. Okay.
Here, then is a packet of Mama Sita’s palabok, which Filipinos often give as “pasalubong” […]

Make sure you read this recipe once through, there are ingredients with divided usage. This is an effective way to “extend” the meat you have if you only have a bit.
1 1/2 pounds pork chops, de-boned and sliced into shreds
4 tablespoons soy sauce
4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 […]

Lunch #2. Cubed tofu — deep-fry (the 4th ingredient would be the oil), pan-fry, bake or grill. Toss with store-bought chili sauce and oyster sauce. Really quick and really kid-friendly. Easy on the pocket too. There’s always a scramble for seconds, so you may need 2 blocks of tofu if […]
