Beef tongue obento

I picked up this ekiben in Sendai recently.  Sendai is famous for a few things, in particular beef tongue.  Without knowing it ( I was in a rush and just chose the nicest box) I landed some gyu (beef) tongue.  This was fine slices that had been sauteed in a mild miso sort of sauce.  Really tender and delicious.  I was looking forward to trying some BBQ’d while I was there but didn’t get the chance.  I am not a big fan of the insides of animals but as far as I am concerned, tongue is great.
