An Okinawan Diet Blog

by Stef on May 24th, 2006

I’ve been meaning to post about the Okinawan diet for some time now. When I was looking at choices for our family at the beginning of the year (due to some health concerns that came up), I found many references to the Okinawan diet. As some of you may know, older Okinawans are some of the healthiest people in the world, so their diet has been subject to much scrutiny. They’ve got the highest percentage of centenarians and they’ve got a low rate of heart disease. I don’t have all my facts and figures yet, so if you’d like to read along with me, get yourself
The Okinawa Program: How the World's Longest-Lived People Achieve Everlasting Health--and How You Can Too

Or, if you’d like to skip that and just get to the food, visit Sayaka’s Kitchen, from Sayaka Mitsuhashi who wrote many of the recipes found in the book.
